OCR 1 Data Analyst - Insurance Risk Management: Personal Property & Casualty Insurance

Within 45 seconds, Holistiplan’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology scans tax returns and creates a white-labeled client-facing Tax Report highlighting opportunities for financial planners and investment advisors. Now, advisors have innovative tax planning tools at their fingertips to find opportunities to work with their clients to reduce their client’s lifetime tax burden and preserve their 

wealth. We’ve now applied the same technology to auto, home and liability insurance policies, allowing advisors to quickly and easily summarize their clients’ coverage and provide valuable insights. 

Who we’re looking for: 

We are seeking an OCR Data Analyst to join our team at Holistiplan. This role will review documents that users have uploaded that fail our Optical Character Recognition software. Our users (financial advisors) upload their clients’ auto/home/umbrella insurance documents to our platform, which the software then reads and turns into deliverable reports. When the software cannot read a document, or cannot read it with 100% confidence, the failed document is routed to a queue where the OCR1 reviews it and manually enters any missing, incomplete or incorrect information. 

This is a full time position at a fast growing, fun-loving, team oriented company. In this position, you will gain a deeper understanding of insurance declaration pages, to ensure that the data extracted is correct and usable. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Data Comparison:
    • Cross-check OCR-extracted values against uploaded declaration pages to ensure consistency and correctness.
    • Identify and address any discrepancies, misclassifications, or missing data in the extracted information.
    • While this role’s primary responsibility will be OCR Analysis for insurance documents, we will also cross-train in data entry for income tax returns.

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma required.
    • Education or job experience in the fields of insurance, financial planning, data entry or related fields is a plus.
    • While not required, experience and comfort with personal insurance policies would be recommended.
